แปลว่าระบบชลประทานรับน้ำนอง : ประกอบไปด้วยคลองรับน้ำนอง (inundation canal) ทำหน้าที่รับน้ำจากแม่น้ำเข้าสู่ระบบปเป็นช่วง ๆ โดยเฉพาะเมื่อเวลาน้ำขึ้น พื้นที่รับน้ำชลประทานจะมีคันกั้นน้ำล้อมรอบเนื่องจากอยู่ในที่ลุ่มต่ำระบบการกระจายน้ำในแปลงเพาะปลูกโดยทั่วไปจะเหมือนกับในระบบชลประทานที่ส่งน้ำโดยตรง แต่มีข้อจำกัดในเรื่องรอบเวรของการส่งน้ำ เพราะจะสามารถส่งน้ำได้เฉพาะเมื่อน้ำในแม่น้ำขึ้นสูงเท่านั้น
